Bayern Munich is in discussions with a potential candidate for their coaching position, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The parties are already discussing the terms of the contract, as the negotiations are at an advanced stage. However, during the initial discussions, the issue of salary and money did not arise. Rangnick wants to know more about the project, long-term plans, signings, and exits. His influence on the decision (along with the management) will also be crucial.

Fabrizio posted: “🚨🔴 Ralf Rangnick, already discussing terms and conditions with Bayern — as talks are at concrete stage. No issues on salary/money; Rangnick wants to know about project, long term plans, signings/outgoings. His influence on decisions (together with the board) will also be key.”

Austria manager Ralf Rangnick has confirmed he was in talk with Bayern Munich to become the club’s head coach in the summer.

“I’ve also informed the Austrian FA (OeFB) about it. We have a very trusting relationship,” he said in an interview with Austrian outlet 90 Minutes published on Wednesday.

Rangnick did not reveal whether he would take the Bayern job, saying he was “focused” on coaching the Austria side into this summer’s Euros in Germany.

It is worth noting that Bayern continues to explore various options for coaches to replace Thomas Tuchel, who will leave the team this summer.

Bayern Munich is considering Ralf Rangnick and Aston Villa head coach Unai Emery as potential replacements for Thomas Tuchel, with consultations narrowing down the choices to these two candidates.
