Arsenal kept their Premier League title hopes alive with a thrilling 3-2 victory over north London rivals Spurs, though the journey to victory was fraught with challenges. Guided by Arteta and his coaching staff, along with a collective team effort, Arsenal emerged victorious.

Notably, Kai Havertz delivered a stellar performance, despite battling illness. He not only provided the assist for Arsenal’s second goal with a superb pass to Saka, but also scored the third goal. The 24-year-old was undeniably the standout player of the North London derby.

Arteta praised Havertz’s exceptional display, highlighting his sensational performance despite not being at full fitness.

Arteta said: “He was sensational in every department today,” Arteta said. “He wasn’t at 100%. He was ill before the match, he was a bit struggling and still he put the performance that he put in. I thought he was unbelievable today.”

The Chelsea reject has been more prolific for Arsenal in 2024, with 13 goal involvements (8 goals and 5 assists in 15 appearances) than he was in a full season for Chelsea. Havertz is unique, and his £65 million acquisition wasn’t a waste of money.

Despite the late drama, Arteta remained optimistic, acknowledging the emotional ups and downs of the match and the challenges encountered by his team.
